Is the 4B movement's aggressiveness against men for seeing women as mantelpieces valid?

But I digress.
See:
America is a nation of immigrants, and for every one of these “strong independent women” who shaves her head and chooses abstinence, a hundred more women from around the world (who don’t subscribe to neoliberal feminism) are going to America every day to marry American men and contribute to the American economy. Capitalists - the real owners of the country - don’t care who does the work or gives birth to new workers, so long as those things are still being done. The 4B movement only serves to make its participants feel good about themselves, mildly annoy the rest of society, and nothing more.
What is your daily motivation and does it work?
One might argue that at the very least, the Athenian and Spartan women in Lysistrata had a noble goal of peace, while the men in South Park were just trying to stop time-travelers from the future from “stealing their jobs”. What purpose does the 4B movement attempt to serve?
Bihon (not getting married with men)
Bichulsan (not giving birth to children)
Bisekseu (not having sex with men)
The only thing of “value” that feminists bring to the table are their vaginas, so they “strike” by stop putting out - at least, that’s the message sent by a sex strike. By doing so, they prove once again that it is those who advocate for “female rights” the loudest who are the most at fault for objectifying females.
When the movement was recently imported to the US after Trump’s 2024 victory, the movement’s toxic side was quick to manifest itself all over social media, focusing solely on promoting misandry instead of any real social progress. And if the American version of this movement follows the same logic of its South Korean progenitor, I expect the homophobia and transphobia to soon follow suit.
I wouldn’t exactly call the 4B movement “aggressive against men”. While it can be interpreted as a misandrist one, all they’re really advocating for are the four “bi” (meaning “not” in Korean):
However, the movement grew exponentially more toxic, as members had no intentions to engage in dialogue with, or change the perspectives of men. At their most extreme, they advocated for the extinction of the South Korean nation, as well as the active antagonisation of all South Korean men, including gay men and trans-males. There is a very well documented problem with homophobia and transphobia among South Korean feminism, particularly on sites like WOMAD.
The idea for such a hollow movement isn’t new by the way. As far back as 441 BCE in ancient Greece, the playwright Aristophanes already wrote a comedy Lysistrata, which is a story about how the women of Athens and Sparta decide to hold a sex strike to stop their men from making war on each other.
Why do some people tell the girl I like that I don’t like her when I do like her?
It’s like these people are just trying to prove Vice President-elect Vance right by literally acting like a bunch of hysterical “childless cat ladies”. When will liberals ever learn that this eyesore of a display only alienates the masses, and will definitely win the Republicans more votes in the next election?
The 4B movement superficially follows the spirit of the proletarian movements of the last century, where people would organise strikes to prevent the value they create from falling into the hands of the parasitic bourgeoisie. Farmers create value by growing crops, so they would strike by stop selling food; workers create value by manufacturing goods in a factory, so they would strike by stop going to work; students create value by learning to become future workers, so they would strike by stop attending classes.
It was meant to be surreal and absurd, like how in one episode of South Park, all the men in town get naked and have gay sex with each other to prevent the future from existing. You were supposed to mock such ideas, not follow them as a playbook.
I wish more progressives would take Chairman Mao’s words to heart:
“As for people who are politically backward, Communists should not slight or despise them, but should befriend them, unite with them, convince them and encourage them to go forward.”
Those words speak true, not just for Communists, but for all who wish to change society for the better.
Will the movement achieve any positive and substantial goals, such as advancing the rights of women in America? No, because the movement reeks of arrogance, and goes out of its way to divide the people. That is not how you win.
“We Communists must be able to integrate ourselves with the masses in all things. If our Party members spend their whole lives sitting indoors and never go out to face the world and brave the storm, what good will they be to the Chinese people? None at all, and we do not need such people as Party members. We Communists ought to face the world and brave the storm the great world of mass struggle and the mighty storm of mass struggle.”
“Communists must never separate themselves from the majority of the people or neglect them by leading only a few progressive contingents in an isolated and rash advance, but must take care to forge close links between the progressive elements and the broad masses. This is what thinking in terms of the majority means.”
In its original South Korean context, where the local society is often said to be extremely patriarchal, the movement was born as a reaction to unhealthy beauty standards, social norms and expectations, and the prevalence of crimes like domestic abuse and non-consensual pornography. It even succeeded, to some extent, to encourage the local "comfort women" (i.e. women who were forced into prostitution by the Japanese invaders) to speak out.
Biyeonae (not getting into romantic relationships with men)
The 4B movement bases itself on the false premise that men will always find women desirable, specifically women who would support such a movement. It’s like me - an unattractive man - saying I refuse to have sex with all the women of the world. Nobody was interested in me in the first place, and the same probably applies to the 4B enthusiasts. The difference being, of course, that I am not that self-important as to think that everybody wants a piece of me.
